Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 27, 2026

Note: If you add advertising, analytics, crash reporting, cloud services or other SDKs later, update this privacy policy before release.

1. Controller and contact

Responsible for the AppVault app and this privacy policy:

Marcel Single
Germany
Email: flondy.dev@gmail.com

2. Privacy by design

AppVault is designed as a local Android app. It does not require an AppVault account and, in the current project design, does not operate its own server for storing your lists, notes or app history.

AppVault processes certain app and device information on your device to provide the features you request. In the current version described by this policy, this information is not transmitted to the developer.

3. Information about apps on your device

AppVault may process information about Android launcher apps visible on your device, including app names, package names, installation status, installation/update information made available by Android, app icons and installation/uninstallation events detected by AppVault.

This information is used to display, search and sort apps, organize them into lists, identify missing apps and show app history. AppVault uses Android package visibility through <queries> for launcher apps and does not use QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES in the current project design.

4. Content you create

Custom lists, list memberships, app notes, known or previous apps, detected history and app settings are stored locally on your device using Android app storage.

5. JSON export and import

You can export supported AppVault data to a JSON file and import it later. You choose the file and storage location through Android. AppVault does not automatically upload these files to the developer or to an AppVault server. If you store or share an export using another service, that service's privacy terms also apply.

6. Android Auto Backup and device transfer

AppVault supports Android's backup and device-transfer mechanisms. Depending on your device, Google account and Android settings, app data may be backed up or transferred by the operating system. This processing is provided by the operating system or device provider, not by an AppVault server.

7. Google Play Store

AppVault can open Google Play so you can reinstall missing or previously used apps. Once Google Play is opened, Google processes data under its own terms. See the Google Privacy Policy.

8. Advertising, analytics and tracking

The current AppVault project design does not include advertising SDKs, analytics services or AppVault-operated tracking. If these services are added in a future version, this privacy policy will be updated before that release.

9. Retention and deletion

Local AppVault data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, clear AppVault's storage in Android or uninstall the app. Exported JSON files remain wherever you save them until you delete them. Android backups are governed by the retention and deletion rules of the relevant operating-system or account service.

In the current design, the developer does not hold a server-side copy of your local AppVault data.

10. Security

AppVault uses Android's app sandbox and storage mechanisms. Security also depends on your device security, screen lock, backup settings and the storage locations you choose for exported files.

11. Website

This landing page itself does not set cookies, load external web fonts or run its own advertising or analytics tracking. The hosting provider may process technical connection data such as IP address, date/time, requested resource and browser information to deliver and secure the website.

If hosted on GitHub Pages, GitHub, Inc. is the hosting provider. See the GitHub Privacy Statement. Replace this paragraph if you use another hosting provider.

12. Your rights and requests

Where the developer processes personal data relating to you, applicable data-protection law may provide rights such as access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability where applicable, and the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority. Because AppVault user data is stored locally and is not transmitted to the developer in the current design, the developer normally does not possess those local records.

13. Changes

This privacy policy may be updated when AppVault features, data processing, third-party services or legal requirements change. The current version will be made available at the same public URL.
